Stir of Embers

Eighty years ago…

… the last dragons fell in a war against them.

The last Primarch Warden of the Cindervow Order failed to save them.

Decades of punishing exile as a mercenary in distant lands have not dulled the final haunting command of Kael Thorne’s dragon: Find the Heartshard. Resurrect the dragons.

Returning at last to Ilodor, she discovers the Heartshard in the possession of a young and sheltered acolyte.

Together, Kael and Seris must make the long treacherous journey to the Fields of Arna, where prophecies claim the sky will burn once more.

Shadowed by a man harbouring secrets of his own, and relentlessly pursued by a monarchy that seeks to keep the truth buried, Kael is plunged back into a conflict she had long believed was burned to ash.

As ancient oaths collide with impossible choices, Kael must decide:

Allow he past to remain buried, or risk everything to rebuild what Ironspire destroyed.

Because some fires were never meant to be extinguished.

And some vows can only be kept by breaking them.

Meet the Author

Australian author K.D. Brynmore is a self-professed book dragon with an unapologetic obsession for hoarding books.

With a career spanning twenty years of print journalism and editing, storytelling has always been her forte - she just spent most of it telling other people’s stories.

But now it’s her turn to write the lifelong tales that have been living inside her head.

K.D. Brynmore is based in the northern suburbs of Western Australia, and Stir of Embers is her debut epic fantasy novel. It’s the first in a planned trilogy.
